Check the product before cleaning

Look for the care instructions, material listing, charging port, battery compartment, seams, cavities, and removable components. A powered housing and a removable sleeve may require different treatment. Do not assume that a product described as waterproof can be submerged; use the exact rating or manufacturer instruction available for that model.

Separate components only as designed

Disconnect power and remove detachable parts only when the product is built for removal. Avoid pulling at liners, seals, wires, or charging covers. Keep track of which pieces can contact water and which must remain dry.

For a sleeve inside a powered case, the removable sleeve may be washable while the housing requires wiping. For larger products such as dolls or torsos, clean manageable sections while supporting the product safely; do not prescribe heat, boiling, bleach, or powder unless the instructions explicitly allow it.

Clean accessible surfaces

Follow the stated method and use a cleaner only when it is suitable for the documented product material. Pay attention to textured areas, rims, seams, and openings where residue can remain. Do not flood motors, controls, ports, or battery compartments.

"Water-based" describes a lubricant formulation; it is not proof that the lubricant or a cleaner is compatible with every product. Compatibility requires support from both the product instructions and the lubricant or cleaner label.

Dry before reassembly or storage

Dry accessible surfaces thoroughly. Allow cavities, seams, textured areas, and removable components enough air exposure to dry completely. Reassembling a damp sleeve or closing a damp storage container can trap moisture.

Inspect the product again after drying. If moisture remains around a port, seam, or interior surface, continue drying rather than charging or storing it.

Store the clean product

Store components only after they are dry. Keep charging accessories organized, avoid compressing delicate shapes, and follow any separation or storage instructions supplied with the product. Storage containers also need to be clean and dry.
